PARENTS OF ALL SQUADS: PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE DOWN ARAGON AVE

My recent attempts to drive loaded boat trailers in or out of Aragon Avenue (a very tricky job, in case anyone has not tried!) have been made even harder by the number of parents cars trying to get up and down the narrow cul-de-sac that is Aragon Avenue.

In addition, the residents of Aragon Avenue are generally patient and tolerant but a few can get legitimately annoyed by cars that make it very hard for them to get in and out from their homes. They are our neighbours and we would like to maintain good relationships with all of them.

Many thanks to all the pupils that get public transport or cycle – this does reduce the numbers significantly.

All the coaching staff join me in asking those who do use cars that you drop your children off in Summer Road or the Ditton Field car park please, and let them walk (or run, if late!) down to the boathouse: it is a good warm-up for them. Wherever possible, please also arrange to pick them up from there. You are welcome to walk down to the river to wait and to meet them. I hope you will appreciate my reasons for repeating this request.

Thank you very much to all of you for your great support, and your willingness to undertake the “chauffeur” service at some fairly unsocial times!
